Nigeria's ICPC promotes integrity and media partnerships to fight corruption
The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) and the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) are advocating for enhanced ethical standards and accountability within Nigeria’s public service. During the Verbatim Magazine/ICPC “100 Pillars of Integrity in Public Service Award” ceremony, officials emphasized that sustainable national development requires a culture of integrity that moves beyond mere prosecution.
In a separate initiative, the Media Anti-Corruption Initiative (MACI) has established a strategic partnership with the ICPC. This collaboration aims to utilize media-driven efforts to promote transparency and public enlightenment. The partnership seeks to shift anti-corruption strategies from a reactive approach to a preventive one by fostering responsible journalism and increasing citizen involvement in maintaining ethical conduct.
