Nigeria's Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Authority Seals Two Ogun Filling Stations

The Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) Abeokuta Field Office sealed Mangarborn Energy and Mobil Filling Station in the Akute/Ajuwon area of Ifo Local Government Area, Ogun State. The action was taken because the stations were under‑dispensing fuel and engaging in other sharp practices that breach the Petroleum Industry Act 2021.

Enforcement was led by Olufemi Adebowale, head of Distribution Systems, Storage and Retailing Infrastructure. He noted that one station had repeatedly removed official seals and operated without authorization, having been shut down at least six times since 2025. The authority issued enforcement notices, closed the facilities indefinitely and warned that operating licences could be suspended pending compliance.

The move underscores the federal government’s commitment to protect consumers and enforce strict compliance with petroleum regulations.
