Nigeria's N-HYPPADEC provides flood resettlement housing in Benue and farmer aid in Kwara

The National Hydroelectric Power Producing Areas Development Commission (N-HYPPADEC) handed over 20 resettlement housing units to families displaced by floods in Benue State. Ten houses were delivered in Buruku Local Government Area and ten in Guma LGA, part of a planned 63‑unit programme aimed at restoring dignity and safety for flood victims. Managing Director Sadiq Yelwa highlighted the federal commitment to climate‑resilient development and thanked state officials and traditional leaders for their support.

In Kwara State, N‑HYPPADEC distributed farm inputs and cash to about 5,000 rural farmers affected by a dry‑season disaster. The aid package included power tillers, planters, hybrid maize seeds and other equipment, while ₦10 million was earmarked for 100 indigent farmers. The commission committed roughly ₦100 million to the relief effort, describing it as a step toward improving agricultural productivity and food security.
