Nigeria's Naira trades near 1,378 per US dollar as black‑market gap persists
On July 11, 2026 the Nigerian naira was quoted at about ₦1,378 to the US dollar in the official market, according to Central Bank of Nigeria data. In the parallel (black) market the dollar was trading around ₦1,410, reflecting a continued premium over the official rate.
The black‑market rates reported on July 10 showed sellers offering ₦1,425 per dollar and buyers paying ₦1,410. The Central Bank does not recognise the parallel market and has pledged reforms to improve liquidity and narrow the official‑black‑market spread. Analysts note that demand for dollars, foreign‑exchange inflows and global monetary policy drive the fluctuations, which affect importers, exporters and investors across the country.
