Nigeria's NASENI Hosts Final Pitching for Innovation Competition

On 5 August 2026, the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) held the final pitching exercise of its Innovation Assessment & Awards Programme (NIAAP) at the Technology Orientation Centre, NASENI Headquarters in Idu‑Industrial Layout, Abuja. The competition featured 261 applications – 180 from NASENI Development Institutes and 81 from ministries, departments and agencies – with the top ten finalists in each category presenting their projects to an independent panel of experts.

The panel evaluated each solution on originality, technical merit, practical application, scalability and potential socio‑economic impact. Winners will be formally recognised at NASENI FEST, the agency’s flagship innovation celebration. The event, opened by Executive Vice Chairman and CEO Khalil Suleiman Halilu, was promoted by NASENI director of information Segun Ayeoyenikan and ran under the theme “Driving Innovation. Accelerating Industrialisation. Transforming Nigeria.”
