Nigeria's NERDC Extends 2026 Textbook Submission Deadline to Aug 7
The Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council (NERDC) announced a final extension of the deadline for submitting textbooks and other instructional materials for the 2026 Phase I assessment, reassessment and ranking exercise. The new cut‑off is August 7, 2026, and the council stressed that no further extensions will be granted. The extension, approved by the Federal Ministry of Education, was communicated by NERDC Executive Secretary Prof. Salisu Shehu to encourage broader participation by publishers and authors. Submission guidelines and the Textbook Quality Indicators remain unchanged, and any late entries will be rejected.
NERDC thanked stakeholders for their cooperation and urged them to comply with the requirements to ensure a smooth evaluation process.
