Nigeria’s new ambassador presents credentials to the Holy See
Nigeria’s new ambassador to the Holy See, Adikwu, has presented his credentials to Pope Leo XIV.
Adikwu, a diplomat from Benue State, has an extensive background in education, having served in various teaching and leadership roles in Nigeria, including positions at Holy Rosary Secondary School, St. Joseph Secondary School, and Otukpo Community Secondary School. He holds a degree in Theology from St. Augustine’s Major Seminary and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education from Benue State University.
The appointment occurs amidst established relations between Nigeria and the Catholic Church, which operates a wide network of schools, healthcare facilities, and social development programs throughout the country. The presentation of his Letters of Credence allows for renewed diplomatic engagement between Nigeria and the Vatican on matters of mutual interest.
