Nigerian Exchange Group posts record H1 profit and N1.30 interim dividend

The Nigerian Exchange Group Plc (NGX Group) announced a record first‑half 2026 performance. Revenue rose 118 % to N17.60 billion and total income increased 96 % to N19.34 billion. Profit before tax jumped 170 % to N14.76 billion and profit after tax climbed 146 % to N10.36 billion. Transaction fees surged 169 % to N13.34 billion and listing fees were up 59 % to N2.38 billion. The board approved an interim dividend of N1.30 per ordinary share, amounting to roughly N3.4 billion for the 2.62 billion shares outstanding.

The same reporting period saw the NGX All‑Share Index rise 1.6 % week‑on‑week to 247,357.40 points, with market capitalisation reaching N159.588 trillion. Blue‑chip stocks, especially First Holdco Plc, drove much of the rally; First Holdco posted profit after tax of N526.13 billion, its shares gaining about 25 % to close at N120.50. Analysts noted that heightened market activity and strong earnings from listed companies underpinned the broader bullish trend.
