Nigeria's NYSC Advances Youth Development and Legal Transparency

NYSC Freedom of Information Act NANS partnership youth mobilisation entrepreneurship programme

Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, Director‑General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), addressed legal officers at a training session on the Freedom of Information Act and the Cybercrimes Act in Abuja, urging them to uphold transparency, manage sensitive data responsibly, and provide accurate legal guidance.

In a separate meeting at NYSC headquarters, Nafiu announced a strengthened partnership with the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS). The collaboration aims to improve corps mobilisation, expand the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development programme, involve NANS in pre‑mobilisation activities, and support digital reforms to enhance service delivery and youth employment.

Both initiatives reflect NYSC’s focus on legal compliance, institutional resilience, and the promotion of youth entrepreneurship and national unity.
