Nigeria's NYSC Demands Separate Entrance for Katsina Orientation Camp

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has raised security concerns over the shared entrance between its Orientation Camp in Katsina State and the state‑run Youth Craft Village. NYSC coordinator Evans Okwor said the current arrangement infringes on security protocols and urged the state government to create an exclusive gate and clearly demarcate the camp. He noted that while female hostels have been renovated, the male hostels remain dilapidated, limiting the camp’s capacity.

Governor Dikko Umaru Radda, addressing 1,130 corps members deployed to the state, warned them against cultism, drug abuse, religious extremism, ethnic intolerance, cybercrime and other social vices, urging them to act as ambassadors of unity and patriotism. The NYSC reaffirmed its commitment to delivering services in health, education, social enlightenment and rural development despite the challenges.
