Nigeria's Ooni urges unity as Ogun governor tightens school security after attacks

The Ooni of Ife, Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, congratulated Muslims on Eid-ul‑Kabir and called for peace, unity and collective prayer to address Nigeria’s security and economic challenges. He praised President Bola Tinubu’s efforts and urged all Nigerians to support national harmony.

In Ogun State, Governor Dapo Abiodun announced a plan to beef up security around schools following a recent terrorist raid on three schools in neighboring Oyo State. The initiative will deploy formal security agencies, the Amotekun and So‑Safe corps, hunters and vigilante groups, and involve traditional rulers and religious leaders to protect students and prevent further attacks.
