Nigeria's PDP uploads over 70% of 2027 election candidates

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) said it has uploaded more than 70% of its governorship and state Houses of Assembly candidates for Nigeria’s 2027 general elections to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) portal. National Publicity Secretary Jungudo Mohammed reported that 18 of the 28 expected governorship candidates have been uploaded and that the exercise is proceeding smoothly after minor technical glitches on the INEC portal were quickly resolved.

The Tanimu Turaki‑led faction of the PDP, represented by its National Publicity Secretary Ini Ememobong, expressed confidence that the judiciary will eventually settle ongoing legal disputes over the party’s candidate submission process, emphasizing its belief in the courts’ ability to correct any perceived irregularities.
