Nigeria's Prince Adeyemi Adeniyi says he lobbied for PFIPC's N1.3 bn inclusion in 2026 budget

Prince Adeyemi Matthew Adeniyi, the Director‑General of the alleged Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), told social‑media influencer VeryDarkMan that he approached the Budget Office in December 2024 to have the agency listed in the 2025 federal budget, but was told the process had already closed. He said a female official introduced him to the Budget Office’s Director‑General, who then referred him to another senior official, and that officials later advised him to aim for inclusion in the 2026 budget.

Adeniyi claimed that after his arrest, all discussions stopped and he was surprised to learn the PFIPC had been allocated about ₦1.3 billion in the 2026 Appropriation Act. He denied paying any bribes, stating, “I did not pay anybody. The only thing I promised was that if I started employing people, I could help them with employment opportunities.” He also rejected allegations that he met the President’s Chief of Staff or that $400 million was paid for his appointment. The Federal Government has described the PFIPC as a non‑existent agency, prompting controversy and investigations.
