Nigeria's Works Minister David Umahi Criticized Over Road Priorities Amid Election Appeal
Former Edo State governor and senator Adams Oshiomhole accused Minister of Works David Umahi of bias, saying the minister approved numerous new road projects while existing roads in Edo and Delta states remain in poor condition. Oshiomhole called for a more balanced allocation of federal road funds and urged the Senate to intervene.
Separately, Umahi appealed to voters in the Southeast to reward President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election, highlighting the progress of the Cross River–Abuja Super Highway and other infrastructure works. He said the projects are creating thousands of jobs, improving connectivity and stimulating economic activity, and urged the region to support the administration strategically.
