Night of Museums in Villages event to host free rural tours in Romania
The fourth edition of ‘Night of Museums in Villages’ will take place on Saturday, August 29, 2026, offering free nocturnal access to various rural cultural sites across Romania. Initiated by the National Museum Network of Romania, the event is unique in Europe and aims to promote rural cultural heritage.
In Buzău County, the Buzău County Museum is hosting free guided tours at the Vasile Voiculescu Memorial House in Pârscov. The house commemorates the life of the Romanian poet, physician, and writer who faced persecution under the communist regime.
In Dâmbovița County, the event includes the Dumitru Ulieru Ethnographic Museum in Pietroșița and the Gabriel Popescu artist house-atelier in Vulcana-Pandele. These sites will be open to the public between 18:00 and 22:00, allowing visitors to explore permanent exhibitions and historical architecture in a unique nighttime setting.
