Nightborn horror film selected for Berlin Competition and NIFFF lineup

Finnish director Hanna Bergholm’s horror drama Nightborn, starring Rupert Grint and Seidi Haarla, has premiered its first official trailer after being chosen for the competition slate of the 2026 Berlin International Film Festival. The film, set in a Finnish forest, follows a new couple confronting unsettling events after the birth of their baby.

The same film will be featured in the program of the Nuit Internationale du Film Fantastique (NIFFF), which is presenting 129 titles from 33 countries. NIFFF’s inclusion highlights Nightborn’s growing international attention alongside other genre works.

Both announcements underline the film’s rising profile in European genre festivals.
