Nightdive Studios reports increasing difficulty supporting Nintendo Switch

Nightdive Studios is finding it increasingly difficult to support the original Nintendo Switch due to the aging hardware and limited specifications. Project manager and producer Grover Wimberly IV noted in a recent interview that while the studio intends to continue supporting the first-generation console as long as possible, the technical constraints are becoming a significant challenge.

In contrast, the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 offers more horsepower, allowing for smoother frame rates, clearer textures, and faster loading times. Nightdive plans to ensure that players upgrading from the original Switch to the Switch 2 do not need to make separate purchases and can retain their save data.

The studio’s next release, SiN: Reloaded, is scheduled for September 24, 2026, and will launch on both the original Nintendo Switch and the Switch 2.
