Nightline to air Salem Halloween special

ABC News’ Nightline will premiere a special Halloween episode titled “Frightline in Salem” on October 30. The broadcast coincides with the 400th anniversary of Salem, Massachusetts, and explores the intersection of the city’s historic past and modern culture.

Correspondent Ashan Singh will investigate Salem’s contemporary spiritual community, including modern-day witches, and visit a local gathering of self-described real-life vampires described as a “Met Gala for vampires.”

The report also examines the legacy of the 1600s witch trials, featuring descendants of the accused who are working to posthumously exonerate their ancestors and correct historical injustices. The special airs on ABC at 12:35 a.m. EDT and will be available for streaming on Disney+ and Hulu the following day.
