Nightwish and vocalist Floor Jansen announce mutual split

Finnish symphonic metal band Nightwish and vocalist Floor Jansen have announced they are parting ways by mutual agreement. The decision, described by both parties as necessary to pursue their respective future artistic ambitions, marks the end of a partnership that began in 2012 when Jansen first joined as a touring replacement.

Jansen, who became a permanent member in 2013, has performed on three studio albums with the group: Endless Forms Most Beautiful, Human. :II: Nature., and Yesterwynde. She will now focus entirely on her solo career, including the release of her upcoming album, Hytress, scheduled for early 2027, and subsequent touring.

Nightwish intends to continue as a band. Celebrating their 30th anniversary, the group announced plans to enter the studio in 2027 to record a new album. A replacement for Jansen has not yet been named.
