Nightwish announces 30th anniversary retrospective collection

Symphonic metal band Nightwish has announced a major retrospective collection titled ‘The Greatest 30 Years On Earth’ to celebrate their three-decade career. Scheduled for release on December 11 via Nuclear Blast Records, the collection will feature audio and video recordings from recent tours, including an arena performance in Amsterdam from 2022 and a homecoming show in Kitee in 2023.

The release includes exclusive live-in-the-studio audio from the band’s virtual events, mastered at Finnvox Studios, alongside a curated collection of photographs from their thirty-year history. Additionally, the package features a new documentary directed by Ville Lipiäinen that focuses on founder and primary songwriter Tuomas Holopainen, exploring his creative process and the band’s evolution.

In anticipation of the anniversary, the band has released a live video for the song ‘Tribal’, recorded during their 2022 ‘Human. :II: Nature.’ tour. Holopainen also noted that the band is planning to enter the studio for their next album in May 2027.
