NIGMA 2026 celebrates gospel music excellence in Nigeria

The Nigeria International Gospel Music Awards (NIGMA) 2026, organized by the Academy of Gospel Music Nigeria (AGMN), took place on August 9 at the MUSON Centre. The event served as a platform to recognize excellence within the African gospel music community.

Major award winners included Moses Bliss, who was named Artiste of the Year, and Gaise Baba, who secured Song of the Year, Best Collaboration, and Afro-Gospel Song of the Year for “No Turning Back II”. Frank Edwards received the Album of the Year award for “Heart of Worship”, while Sunmisola Agbebi was named Female Vocalist of the Year.

In diaspora categories, Limoblaze won Diaspora Male Artiste of the Year and Nkiruka “Enkay” Ogboruche was named Diaspora Female Artiste of the Year. The ceremony also included lifetime achievement and legacy awards for various ministers and pioneers in the genre.
