Nigrán authorities identify four individuals for illegal dumping

The Local Police of Nigrán have identified four individuals responsible for illegal waste dumping within the municipality. The suspects face significant fines ranging from 1,500 euros to over 100,000 euros, depending on the severity and nature of the waste.

One specific case involves the illegal disposal of pruning remains on July 15 by a resident of Baltar. This individual faces potential fines between 2,001 and 100,000 euros, which could escalate to 600,000 euros if the waste is classified as hazardous. Other identified incidents include the dumping of domestic trash in Camiño Camesella and a large-scale accumulation of furniture, cardboard, and construction debris in Camiño dos Concellos.

The municipality has noted more than ten unauthorized dumping zones across its seven parishes. Local authorities have intensified surveillance at these “hotspots” since the beginning of summer to combat the recurring issue of unmanaged waste disposal.
