Nihat Pancar missing after ship accident near Girne

Nihat Pancar, a 51-year-old cook, remains missing following a ship accident off the coast of Girne in Northern Cyprus. Pancar had traveled to the region three months ago to seek employment.

Pancar’s family in the Samandağ district of Hatay, Turkey, is awaiting news of his whereabouts. His wife, Özlem Pancar, noted that he had planned a surprise return to his family and had not informed them of his travel plans. While he was confirmed to be on the vessel, his name has not appeared on the lists of those confirmed deceased or currently receiving hospital treatment.

Search efforts continue as the family maintains hope for his safe return, noting that he had communicated with his daughter shortly before the incident.
