Nihon University cycling club establishes academy to ease athlete costs

The Nihon University cycling club has established the Crimson Cycling Academy, a general incorporated association led by alumni, to strengthen its operational foundation and ensure long-term development. The move aims to address the high financial burden placed on students and their families due to the significant costs of cycling equipment, maintenance, and travel for national and international competitions.

In conjunction with the academy's launch, the club has announced a partnership with Chari Loto Co., Ltd., a company involved in keirin and auto race betting operations. Chari Loto will provide financial support, essential gear such as helmets and training apparel, and explore internship opportunities for student athletes to assist with career development. The initiative seeks to create an environment where athletes can focus on competition without excessive economic anxiety while building diverse career paths beyond professional racing.
