Niigata joint venture selected for SME health management project

A joint venture consisting of the Niigata Occupational Health Medical Association, ASEC, and Niigata Nippo has been selected by Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry to conduct a demonstration project for health and productivity management. As one of only four companies selected nationwide, the group will focus on supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Niigata Prefecture that have not yet implemented or are in the early stages of health management strategies.

The project aims to create a structured model for promoting health management that can be utilized in other regions. It involves providing information, consultations, and support to help companies address employee health issues, such as lifestyle diseases and mental health, as a strategic business priority to improve productivity and employee retention.

A free seminar, ‘Niigata Health and Productivity Management Seminar 2026’, is scheduled for September 14, 2026. The event will include keynote speeches on government systems and women’s health, panel discussions, and guidance on applying for health management excellence certifications. The project is slated to run through February 2027.
