Niigata Prefecture launches 30% accommodation discount campaign

Niigata Prefecture has announced the second phase of its ‘Niigata Go To Travel’ campaign to stimulate tourism demand amid rising prices. Starting September 7, residents of the prefecture can receive a 30% discount on accommodation costs, capped at 5,000 yen per person per night.

The campaign is scheduled to run for four months, from September 7 through December 28, an extension from the previous two-month phase intended to reach a broader audience. The prefecture has allocated a budget of 480 million yen, aiming to support 96,000 overnight stays. Total economic impact from both phases of the program is estimated at approximately 3 billion yen. Reservations can be made through participating travel agencies or their respective booking websites, and the program will conclude once the budget is exhausted.
