Niihama Taiko Festival features Kakikurabe event

The Niihama Taiko Festival held a Kakikurabe event on October 16, 2026, at Tenjinbama-dori. During the event, the four-lane road was closed to vehicle traffic to allow nine Taikodai from the Kawahigashi district to perform.

The Taikodai, which weigh approximately 2.5 tons each, performed intense demonstrations. Notable performances included the Shiramah and Nitta Taikodai, which received significant applause for their 'sashiage' displays.
