Nika Kovač addresses business class travel photos

Nika Kovač, director of the Institute 8. marec and a political activist, has responded to media reports featuring a photograph of her traveling in business class on a flight from New York.

Kovač stated via the Institute's Facebook page that she shared the business class cabin with Slovenian Prime Minister Janez Janša, his wife, and his team during her return trip from a United Nations event in September. She claimed that her business class tickets are often provided by event organizers due to the international recognition of her work.

Kovač accused the "authoritarian right" of attempting to discredit her and suggested that the anonymous photographer might be linked to the Prime Minister. Additionally, she criticized Janša, alleging that the flight tickets for the Prime Minister, his wife, and his staff were paid for using taxpayer money.
