Nika Röffen discusses mental health struggles and clinical treatment

Nika Röffen, daughter of RTL presenter Frauke Ludowig, has shared personal details regarding her struggle with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). Röffen stated that she has lived with the condition since the age of 14, but the symptoms intensified significantly when she began studying at the Academy for Fashion and Design.

In a TikTok video, Röffen described how the compulsions severely impacted her daily life, making basic tasks difficult and sometimes preventing her from eating for hours. She noted that the exhaustion was so extreme she occasionally fell asleep on stairs because she could not make it to her bed.

To address the situation, Röffen paused her studies for a semester to undergo professional treatment in a mental health facility, where she spent approximately one year. Reflecting on the experience, she described the clinical stay as a “very formative time that really saved my life,” adding that she is unsure if she would still be here if she had not sought help.
