Nikaia Mayor rejects renaming Markou Botsari Street

Konstantinos Maragakis, the Mayor of Nikaia-Agios Ioannis Rentis, has clarified that Markou Botsari Street will not be renamed to Giorgos Mazonakis Street. This decision follows various proposals submitted to honor the late singer, known as ‘Giorgos of Nikaia’.

The Mayor stated that while the municipal authority is carefully reviewing multiple suggestions on how to best honor Mazonakis's memory and his connection to the city, they will do so with respect for both the individual and the city's history. Maragakis emphasized that the administration will not proceed with the specific street renaming proposal, promising official updates on any future developments.
