Nike ACG unveils Picklejus mountain running shoe

Nike ACG has introduced the Picklejus, a new trail running shoe specifically engineered for long-distance, big-mountain racing. Developed over three years through the Nike Sport Research Lab, the project involved 10 research studies and 20 prototypes tested by over 100 athletes.

The footwear features a new dual-density ZoomX platform, which utilizes a co-molded supercritical foam system. This design includes a softer core for impact protection and a firmer perimeter ring for stability. The shoe also incorporates a trail-tuned Flyknit upper with hydrophobic yarns and a gaiter-inspired cuff to repel debris and water.

A key technical component is the proprietary GOATEK traction platform, which aims to provide a 45 percent increase in wet traction and 25 percent greater abrasion resistance compared to previous models. The name Picklejus is inspired by pickle brine, a remedy often used by endurance runners to combat muscle cramps. The product is expected to be available in late 2027.
