Nike launches new Race-Day System of Speed footwear
Nike has introduced a new footwear strategy called the ‘Race-Day System of Speed’. Rather than a traditional product hierarchy, the company is launching an ecosystem of three distinct models designed to cater to different athlete profiles and goals.
The new lineup includes the Apex, Alphafly 4, and Swooshfly. These models aim to provide personalized performance options ranging from elite marathon runners to those participating in their first competitive race.
The flagship model, the Nike Apex, is designed for maximum performance. It features dual Air Zoom units in the forefoot, a lighter and more reactive ZoomX LT foam, and a redesigned Flyplate carbon fiber plate. Nike claims this configuration provides up to 40% more energy return than the previous Alphafly 3 model while being 10% lighter.
