Nike signs Michael Olise and plans Hypervenom relaunch

Bayern Munich star Michael Olise has reportedly signed his first personal equipment contract with Nike. The deal follows the departure of Kylian Mbappé to the Swiss brand On and aims to secure Olise as a primary face for the American manufacturer.

Olise, known for his unusual preference for discontinued footwear, has long used the Nike Hypervenom Phantom III, a model discontinued in 2018. Reports suggest his preference has influenced Nike’s long-term product strategy. The company is expected to restructure its football boot lineup by the 2027/28 season, which includes phasing out the Phantom line and reviving the Hypervenom series as a major product pillar alongside Mercurial and Tiempo.

This strategic shift aims to leverage nostalgia and the influence of high-profile players like Olise to drive interest in the returning Hypervenom line.
