Nike stock faces analyst target adjustments ahead of earnings
Nike is facing a period of analyst scrutiny and price target adjustments ahead of its fiscal first-quarter 2027 earnings report, scheduled for October 1.
BTIG Research recently reiterated a “buy” rating for the footwear manufacturer with a $55.00 price objective. However, other major institutions have adjusted their outlooks. Barclays maintained an “overweight” rating but lowered its price target from $52.00 to $48.00, noting that the company’s recovery strategy is prioritizing margins over sales growth. Barclays analyst Adrienne Yih cautioned that the path to renewed sales growth “will not be linear.” Additionally, Stifel reduced its price target to $40.00.
Nike’s recent fiscal fourth-quarter results showed revenue of $11.0 billion, a 1% year-over-year decline. While wholesale revenue rose 4%, NIKE Direct revenue fell 7%. CEO Elliott Hill noted that while the company faces “top-line headwinds,” progress in performance products remains encouraging.
