Nike to provide 15 million euro credit line to Frauen-Bundesliga
The newly independent Frauen-Bundesliga has secured a potential credit line of up to 15 million euros from Nike. According to a letter from the FBL e. V. to its clubs, the sportswear company is prepared to offer a flexible credit line with an annual interest rate of 1.5 percent.
This financial arrangement is intended to provide significant funding for the league's development and establishment phase. The move follows the decision by the DFB Bundestag to spin off the women's league from the German Football Association. Starting from the 2027/28 season, the FBL e. V. will be solely responsible for the league.
In comparison, the men's Deutsche Fußball Liga (DFL) has access to a much larger loan framework of up to 100 million euros provided by Adidas.
