Nike unveils Alphafly 4 marathon racing shoe

Nike has unveiled the Alphafly 4, the latest generation of its competitive marathon racing shoe. The redesign focuses on improving efficiency and maintaining performance during the late stages of long-distance races when fatigue sets in.

Key technical upgrades include a 5% reduction in weight and a 10% increase in energy return compared to the previous model. The shoe features a new Atomknit upper designed for a precise, seamless fit with strategic midfoot cables and an integrated heel structure.

The midsole utilizes a combination of traditional ZoomX foam and the new ZoomX LT foam, which is up to 17% lighter and provides 8% more energy return. This cushioning system surrounds a carbon fiber Flyplate, which is engineered to provide stability and propulsion while maintaining the signature curved geometry of the Alphafly line.
