Nikšić hosts book promotion on digital technology and humanity

Culturologist and publicist Željko Rutović promoted his book, ‘Ukidanje čovjeka: Logos ili Techne’ (The Abolition of Man: Logos or Techne), in Nikšić. The work is the result of long-term research into how advanced digital technology influences humanity and the challenges facing modern civilization.

During the promotion, speakers including Dr. Radovan Raco Mijanović, Miodrag Kankaraš, and Dragan B. Perović discussed the book's central dilemma: the tension between ‘logos’—representing word, meaning, order, and mind—and ‘techne’, which represents skill and instrumental reason. Perović described the book as a deep theoretical appeal for the defense of humanity in an era where digital revolution and artificial intelligence are reshaping social reality.

The book, structured through approximately forty essays and studies, explores the thesis that under the pressure of global digital capitalism and algorithmic control, traditional human autonomy and critical consciousness are being eroded. The work serves as a sociological and philosophical diagnosis of the 21st century, following Rutović’s previous studies, ‘Digitalni demos’ and ‘Homo mašina’ much.
