Nikšić Hotel Onogošt water fails health standards
Laboratory analyses conducted by the Montenegro Institute of Public Health have determined that the water at Hotel Onogošt in Nikšić, which serves as student accommodation and a restaurant, failed to meet prescribed health standards. The findings follow an inspection on October 19, prompted by reports of stomach ailments among approximately forty students residing at the facility.
The Ministry of Health confirmed that the water samples did not meet microbiological or physical-chemical requirements for health safety. According to expert opinions from the Institute of Public Health, the water was deemed unfit not only for drinking but also for any purpose involving direct contact or food preparation, including washing hands, teeth, and faces, as well as preparing meals and washing dishes.
The Sanitary Inspection has issued a decision to rectify the identified irregularities and has implemented misdemeanor measures within its jurisdiction. Specific details regarding which parameters failed or the exact degree of deviation have not been released by the Ministry.
