Nikšić man arrested for attacking police director's escort

A 65-year-old man, identified as M. Đ., has been arrested in Nikšić for allegedly endangering the security of a police director's escort vehicle. The incident occurred on the Nikšić-Podgorica highway when the suspect, driving a Volkswagen, reportedly attempted to overtake the escort vehicles improperly and intentionally struck one of them, causing minor material damage.

The suspect failed to stop for police officers and refused a breathalyzer test. During subsequent searches of properties in Nikšić, Danilovgrad, and Podgorica, authorities discovered a Magnum pistol with 14 bullets, along with 117 pieces of ammunition of various calibers for which the individual lacked proper documentation.

The Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Nikšić has ordered the arrest of M. Đ. on suspicion of preventing an official from performing an official duty. The suspect reportedly confirmed during questioning that he was aware of whose vehicles were in the escort.
