Nikita Morgan warns of traumatic eyelid surgery complications
Nikita Morgan, a 31-year-old saleswoman, is warning others against undergoing blepharoplasty after a procedure in Germany left her with severe complications. Seeking to address hooded eyes she had felt self-conscious about since childhood, Morgan opted for the surgery at a clinic in Dusseldorf after finding local options in Dublin too expensive.
Morgan described a traumatic experience during and after the procedure, noting that she felt the numbing agent was insufficient for her second eye. She reported experiencing intense burning sensations and the smell of burning skin during the operation. Following the surgery, she experienced significant bleeding, stating that blood was pouring down her face to the point where she struggled to navigate airport security.
The procedure, which aims to remove or reposition excess skin around the eyelids, was inspired by its increasing popularity among social media influencers. Morgan expressed regret over the experience, noting the physical pain and the necessity of removing her own stitches.
