Nikita Zadorov faces disciplinary scratch with Boston Bruins

Boston Bruins defenseman Nikita Zadorov was recently a healthy scratch, a move the team attributed to disciplinary reasons. Analysts suggest the decision may also stem from a decline in performance and the impact of undisciplined play, noting that Zadorov recently took a double minor penalty that negatively affected the team.

Zadorov, who is in the third year of a six-year, $5 million average annual value contract, expressed feelings of “disgust” and disappointment regarding the situation. While he emphasized his emotional investment in the team, his agent, Dan Milstein, sparked controversy by suggesting Zadorov might not be treated as harshly in other markets like Toronto.

Known for his physical presence, Zadorov has led the league in penalty minutes over the past two seasons. His recent struggles with discipline and production have led to discussions regarding his future role and whether the Bruins should consider trading him at the deadline.
