Nikkei 225 Climbs Over 4% as Japanese Shares Rally

The Japanese stock market posted back‑to‑back gains, with the Nikkei 225 rising 2,494.62 points (4.03%) to finish at 64,362.02, just above the 64,360 level. The advance was led by technology, automobile, metals and ceramics stocks.

The rally coincided with broader market strength. In the United States, the Dow Jones added 276.93 points, the Nasdaq rose 251.65 points and the S&P 500 gained 52.09 points. Amazon.com shares jumped after reporting better‑than‑expected revenue and cloud growth. Crude oil prices rose after Iran’s military struck U.S. assets in Bahrain and Kuwait, pushing West Texas Intermediate up about 1.8%. Treasury yields also climbed, with the 10‑year yield reaching its highest level since early 2025.
