Nikki Sixx says Mötley Crüe will focus on singles over full-length albums

Mötley Crüe bassist and primary songwriter Nikki Sixx has stated that he no longer believes in the necessity of producing full-length studio albums. He cited the immense amount of work, time, and studio resources required to write and record enough material for a ten-track album as a primary reason for this shift.

Sixx noted that the evolution of radio and music streaming has changed how fans consume music, often resulting in listeners only engaging with a single track rather than an entire record. He expressed a preference for the "lightning strike" approach, where the band focuses on recording individual songs as inspiration strikes, similar to their recent EP "Cancelled" and songs recorded for "The Dirt" soundtrack.

Sixx mentioned discussing this direction with drummer Tommy Lee, noting that the band intends to continue releasing shorter projects and singles that better align with the current music business landscape.
