Niklas Dorsch undergoes surgery for facial fracture

Toronto FC midfielder Niklas Dorsch has undergone successful surgery to repair a facial fracture. The injury occurred during the 91st minute of a 3-3 draw against Charlotte FC on Wednesday, when Dorsch was struck in the cheekbone by an elbow.

Dorsch, 28, joined Toronto FC from Germany’s Bundesliga on July 28. Prior to the injury, he had made three appearances and scored two goals for the club. Toronto FC has not yet released a timeline for his recovery.
