Internacional nears signing of Niclas Eliasson from AEK Athens

Swedish-Brazilian winger Niclas Eliasson has arrived in Porto Alegre to finalize his transfer to Internacional. The 30-year-old player arrived at Salgado Filho Airport on Saturday night following an agreement between his current club, AEK Athens, and the Brazilian side.

The deal is structured as a loan until June 2027, with Internacional paying 300,000 euros to AEK. The agreement also includes a purchase option valued between 2.5 million and 2.8 million euros. Eliasson must now undergo medical and physical examinations before officially signing his contract.

While Eliasson is expected to be available for upcoming matches, such as the fixture against Atlético Mineiro, reports suggest he may not be ready in time for Internacional’s Copa do Brasil matches against their rivals, the Gre-Nais derbies. The club is also reportedly pursuing other attacking reinforcements, including Álex Arce, to bolster their squad.
