Niklas Süle joins amateur club SV Tiefenbach after professional retirement

Former professional footballer Niklas Süle has returned to the pitch at the amateur level. After retiring from professional football due to persistent knee injuries and ligament issues, the 30-year-old has joined SV Tiefenbach, a club competing in the lower tiers of the German football league system.

Süle, who previously played for major clubs including Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund, stated that his decision was driven by a desire to return to his roots and play for the pure joy of the game alongside friends. He noted that playing with friends is a “special thing” for him and expressed a preference for an environment focused on the sport rather than financial interests.

In his debut for SV Tiefenbach, Süle played as a center forward and scored a goal from a corner kick. Despite his individual goal, the team suffered a 2:7 defeat against SG Kirchardt. His appearance drew an estimated crowd of 500 spectators.
