Niko Kovac sets Borussia Dortmund record after 50th Bundesliga match

Borussia Dortmund manager Niko Kovac has set a new club record for the most points accumulated in a coach's first 50 Bundesliga matches. Following a 3-2 comeback victory against Hoffenheim, Kovac has reached a total of 107 points, averaging 2.14 points per game.

This performance surpasses the previous records held by Thomas Tuchel (105 points) and Lucien Favre (106 points). Kovac's statistical start also exceeds that of former manager Jürgen Klopp, who earned 86 points in his first 50 matches.

The record-breaking win was secured after Dortmund overcame a 2-0 deficit. Goals from Serhou Guirassy and Fábio Silva, followed by a decisive strike from Alban Hajdari, completed the turnaround. Dortmund director Lars Ricken praised the manager, noting that no other coach in the club's history has achieved such a points total in the same timeframe.
