Niko Sigur linked to Celtic transfer amid Hajduk Split financial needs

Celtic FC is reportedly preparing an official bid for Hajduk Split player Niko Sigur. The Scottish club has been monitoring the versatile player, who can play as a right-back or in midfield, for approximately one year.

Transfer valuations suggest a deal could be worth around £3 million (€3.5 million). Hajduk Split’s sporting director, Robert Graf, has acknowledged the club's tight financial situation, stating that the transfer budget is currently near zero and that selling players is necessary to fund squad reinvestment and restructure the club's salary system.

Sigur, who has represented Canada, is reportedly open to the move to Scotland. The potential sale comes at a critical time for Hajduk Split as they compete for qualification in the Conference League, which could provide additional much-needed revenue.
