Armenian officials discuss teacher welfare and leadership changes

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met with dozens of teachers from Yerevan and regional schools to mark Teacher's Day. During the meeting, Pashinyan discussed the results of the voluntary teacher certification system, which allows for salary increases and bonuses. He emphasized the need to make the teaching profession more attractive to young people and stated that certification should become a periodic process.

Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sport Zhanna Andreasyan highlighted a new legislative initiative regarding the status of teachers, which includes a component for housing support to provide greater security for educators.

In separate news, Robert Bazikyan, the deputy head of the State Revenue Service, has been appointed as its acting head. According to his 2025 declaration, Bazikyan earned a total of 35,110,919 AMD last year, with approximately 19 million AMD coming from his salary at the State Revenue Service. His assets include five real estate units, including land in the Ararat region and a residential house in Yerevan's Nor Nork district.
