Nikola Camaj addresses Tuzi municipality border demarcation

Nikola Camaj, Vice President of the Parliament of Montenegro, has stated that there is no dispute regarding the name of the Tuzi municipality. He clarified that the mention of the name ‘Malesija’ is not an attempt to change the municipality's name, but rather a framework to address the critical issue of border demarcation between Tuzi and Podgorica.

Camaj emphasized that the Malesija region, specifically settlements inhabited by Albanians such as Kuće Rakića, Korita, Ljuhari, Fundina, and Kakaricka gora, should be part of the Tuzi municipality. He argued that if these areas remain under Podgorica, the population percentage would fall significantly below one percent, potentially jeopardizing the constitutional rights of those citizens.

He noted that the current demarcation issue is a legacy of the period when the formation of the Tuzi municipality was delayed. Camaj expressed hope that the matter can be resolved harmoniously to ensure the institutional and formal rights of the residents are protected.
